Case Study: Stay Gold Floral

WebDesignToo Case Study - Stay Gold Floral

From beautiful bouquets to a brand that finally blooms online

Background

Stay Gold Floral had built a strong word-of-mouth reputation across Tampa Bay long before they had a website. Owner Jen Halkias and her team were already known for their romantic arrangements, elegant installations, and down-to-earth approach to wedding florals. But without an online home, their business relied entirely on social media and vendor referrals.

As their client list grew, it became clear they needed a space that reflected the artistry and professionalism behind the name. Jen wanted a website that wasn’t just pretty—it had to feel intentional, showcase real work, and make inquiries effortless for busy brides and event planners.

The Challenge

No starting point. No old website to update, no pre-existing structure to work from. We were building from scratch. The biggest challenge was translating Stay Gold’s personal, boutique experience into a digital format that would feel just as warm and genuine.

Jen’s florals are modern but timeless, full of soft color and texture. The design needed to carry that same feeling—refined but approachable, elegant without being stuffy.

The Approach

We began by defining a visual identity that felt like Stay Gold itself: calm, organic, and confident.

Color palette: Warm neutrals paired with muted greens and gold accents to echo the natural materials and tones found in their arrangements.

Typography: A balance of classic serif headings and clean sans-serif body text to create a mix of sophistication and readability.

Imagery: Real photos from weddings, styled shoots, and behind-the-scenes moments were front and center. Every image was selected to capture movement and texture rather than stiff poses, mirroring the fluid nature of Jen’s floral design.

Tone of voice: Personal and conversational, written as if you’re chatting with a friend who happens to be a floral expert.

The Design & Build

The new site introduces visitors with the line “Timeless Blooms, Endless Beauty.” From there, it guides them through Stay Gold’s philosophy and portfolio, using subtle animations and thoughtful spacing to make every section easy to explore.

We highlighted custom arrangements, seasonal collections, and a “Why Stay Gold?” section that gives heart to the brand story. A simple contact form at the bottom makes booking intuitive—visitors can specify their event type, date, and preferred contact method without clicking through multiple pages.

The site also features:

  • Dedicated vendor section highlighting trusted event partners.
  • Testimonial carousel to build credibility with real client voices.
  • Metrics block showing event count, happy clients, and flowers processed, adding a personal touch of transparency.
  • Team profiles with portraits and bios that make the brand feel approachable and human.

The Results

Within the first two weeks of launch, Stay Gold Floral received more online inquiries than they had in the previous two months combined. The site now serves as both a portfolio and a hub for event coordination, helping Jen and her team communicate efficiently with clients and vendors.

Most importantly, it gives the brand a digital identity that finally matches the artistry of their work.

Jen described it best:

“This is exactly how I wanted Stay Gold to feel. It’s beautiful but simple, and it finally shows people who we are.”

Key Takeaways

  • Building from scratch allows every detail to align with the business’s values and personality.
  • The most successful floral websites balance imagery with function—beauty should never come at the cost of clarity.
  • When your business is rooted in personal connection, your site should feel like an invitation, not a brochure.
