Ask Pixel: Why aren’t people filling out my contact form?
Why is your contact form not getting submissions? Pixel explains how long forms, too many required fields, and poor user experience can cost you leads.
Hey Pixel. Quick question. I already have a menu on my website, why does it need a site map?
Good question! The short answer is that a sitemap is like a roadmap for search engines – it helps guide web crawlers (like Googlebot) to all your website’s essential content.
Oh, okay, cool! So I can just create a sitemap and forget about it, right?
Eep, not quite! You need to update and resubmit your sitemap if you’ve added/deleted pages or blog posts, redesigned your website or changed URL structures, or simply moved things around.
How do I update it?? When I launch my new site, the Google bots will crawl it right away… right?
Soooo there’s good news and bad news.
Good news: If you use a CMS plugin (such as Yoast SEO) or a modern website builder, your sitemap updates automatically in the background!
“Bad” news: You still need to submit your sitemap to Google Search Console.
Oh man… that seems like so much work. What the heck is Google Search Console?
Well, luckily most web designers and developers who handle SEO (like us!) will submit your sitemap, so Google’s little bots will crawl it. You’re all set with us!
Sweet! Thanks Pixel 🙂
No problem! Remember: Sitemaps help your website really “get on the map”!
